Premiere Theatre & Performance (PTAP) began 7 years ago as the International Theatre of Chicago. Since our founding, we have devised, co-produced and premiered 17 productions and formed collaborative relationships with a number of acclaimed, off-loop Chicago theatres and international artists. PTAP supports inspired and audacious directors, whose focus is the development of new work, original performance and Chicago premieres.
The mission of PTAP is to present new plays and original performance by directors of vision and originality. We recognize the director as the catalyst for and champion of new work and devised original performance. Premiere creates a home for stage directors, in an environment that encourages development, creativity and artistic integrity.
